Ed has extensive leadership, business and technology expertise in the manufacturing, medical, aerospace, defense, consumer goods and government sectors.
He is an innovative, pragmatic results-driven IT executive with a strong consulting background. An expert in business and IT strategy development and execution, he has helped companies achieve superior performance improvement. Ed has successfully implemented ERP, CRM, e-Business and quality management systems for clients such as Novartis, Procter and Gamble, Cincinnati Bell, Matrix Marketing, Teleflex Incorporated, Georgia Pacific, Sumitomo Sitix, EADS N. American Test & Services, among others.
Ed drove 300% increase in license sales and consulting revenues during his first four years with a software vendor. Revenue records for consulting services were set 7 of 9 years.
Ed defined new and complimentary product offerings along with redefinition of target market and approach. He established a program for re-selling the previous customer base add-on consulting and platform migration services. He also identified and pursued additional market segments beyond the firm’s traditional focus.
He typically applied reengineering methodologies for streamlining and improving client’s internal processes. He also developed and aligned business and IT strategies to support their international expansions to Canada, the European Union and Mexico while promoting low cost manufacturing.
Ed is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology—earning a BS in Management Science and an MS in Information and Computer Science. Throughout his career, he has programmed in more than 60 different progamming languages. He still knows how to construct and apply LR Recursive Descent parsing techniques and has deployed this approach numerous times during development of programmed solutions.
In his spare time, Ed is an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction. He enjoys movies, domestic and foreign. He is mechanically adept and has rebuilt more than one automobile engine and drive train. He likes repairing things that haven’t yet reached the end of their usefulness. He enjoys spending time with his wife and their two children. Long time hobbies are collecting music and exploring different cuisines.
